Rase Egg Farm. Nowadays, at that location, we have 4 buildings and have

About Us
Hersh Packing & Rubber Company
was founded in 1958 by V.R. (Hersh) Hershberger.
Hershberger was a former Indianapolis Power & Light,
third shift boiler operator and Butler University
Graduate. He relocated from Indiana selling packing for
The Bryner Company who went out of business shortly
after. He was then faced with the decision to go home or
stay and try to succeed.
He decided to stay and and started Hersh Packing & Rubber Company out of the trunk
of his car, in Canal Winchester, Ohio. His only employee
was his wife, Edna Hershberger and together they set out
on a fanatastic journey.

As time went on, Hersh Packing and Rubber
Company grew and so did the need for more space.
Hersh Packing moved to it's current location at
312 North High Street, Canal Winchester,
in the early 1960’s. As the company started growing, Hersh
decided to add a couple of key employees that would
prove worthy. The employees were Earl V. Joiner at
Outside Sales and Jim Swartzlander at Inside Sales. Both
of whom set off to help the company grow and were
integral parts of what Hersh Packing is now.
They also stayed over 25 years and ended up
retiring from Hersh Packing & Rubber Company.

In 1995, Hersh Packing & Rubber Company expanded
by the opening of the second location in
Hilliard, Ohio.
Next, we opened the EVJ Gasket shop at our Canal
Winchester location where we can cut our own
gaskets. The EVJ Gasket shop was named in memory
of long time employee Earl Vincent Joiner. Eleven
years later, Hersh Packing had grown enough to open a
third location in Heath, Ohio. This location is the
largest ParkerStore in the country at 6000 square feet!
In 2008, Hersh Packing and
Rubber Company was lucky enough to celebrate 50
years in business! Hersh now has over 100 years
experience in the business and thanks to the
hard work of the employees at Hersh, we went
From a modest start to a company with 6 million
dollars in sales in 2008! Our company was founded on service and that is
something we continue to pride ourselves in today.
